Gastro Tip: Kozak Buvette Bio

Lunch-Check is delighted to introduce Basel’s very first organic restaurant.

It’s just a 3-minute walk from the SBB train station, located inside the Markthalle.

Kozak Bio-Buvette serves Ukrainian specialties made with organic and regional ingredients.
This unique food stand is a member of the Slow Food Chefs’ Alliance and proudly carries the Fait Maison label and the Demeter LIGHT concept.

Beneath a striking octagonal shell vault—28 meters high, 8 centimeters thick, and with a 60-meter span—Kozak Buvette offers some of the best hot and cold soups in town.
It is the first Ukrainian restaurant in Switzerland and the first to implement the Demeter LIGHT restaurant concept.

Its culinary offering: Ukrainian and Eastern European cuisine.

Sample menu:
– Borscht or green salad
– Banosh* with porcini mushrooms
– Blini
– Water, syrup, or Kompot

Organic specialties: Vegetable soup (Borscht), old hen soup (Sup Palevoi), sauerkraut and beef stew (Bigos), market salad, polenta with porcini mushrooms (Banosh), pork steak, pancakes (Mlyntsi), and our national drink made with plums and apples (Kompot).
